What’s your background, in a couple quick sentences?
My background is in art, specifically visual arts. I studied math in college along with visual arts, and I was always interested in creating stuff with my hands. I’ve always loved model making with paper, clay and other materials. Painting has always been my go-to activity since I was a kid.
What brought you to Harvard and what did you study?
I studied architecture at the GSD. It was an amazing experience to work with and be mentored by some of the greatest architects in the world. The Design School provided much more than just rigorous projects and academic materials. It opened so many doors beyond architecture: I was on the student council and the Advisory Committee on Shareholders Responsibility (ACSR), which led me to meet faculty and alumni from various schools who broadened my views. I also met my husband at Harvard, which was the greatest gift from my time there!
Where are you now in your career?
As an architect, I have been involved in building projects both locally and internationally, from skyscrapers, interiors, to hospital buildings. Currently I am transitioning back to my lifelong passion of visual design and art. Nowadays in my studio, I am creating art that reflects my position in this world.
Why did you join the HGSC Board?
When I graduated in 2017, I wanted to stay in touch with Harvard. Most people stay connected through their school specific alumni channels and class reunions, but what I loved most about my time in Cambridge was the cross campus connections. HGSC was such a unique opportunity to be connected with people like myself from a broad range of backgrounds. I still feel I never left Harvard, partially because of HGSC.
What are you excited for in 2026?
In 2025, my husband and I decided to throw a big wedding after 12 years of being together. It took us both a long time for us to find our chosen family to celebrate our love with. So this year, I want to use our story to inspire others in our community to know they are valid and can find love and acceptance.
We felt an immense outpouring of love both on our wedding day and in the time since we started sharing our story. We would love to share some of it here with our HGSC community through the article in Vogue ["The Grooms Wore Louis Vuitton, Ralph Lauren, and Custom Hanbok for Their Seattle Wedding," by Anna Grace Lee].

What's one food you miss most from your Harvard days?
When I lived in Cronkhite there was a waffle maker that had a Harvard crest embedded in it. The waffle mix and the thickness somehow always made the best waffles I’ve ever had. I do really miss that! The other place I miss is the restaurant my husband and I always went for dates near the medical campus called Thaitation.
