Caleb Ren (AB '21, he/his)

What’s your background, in a couple quick sentences?
Hi! I’m Caleb, I’m a product manager working in edtech! I originally grew up in Seattle, Washington, and outside of work, I like noodling around on my piano, cooking, DJing house and techno music, and volunteering.
What brought you to Harvard and what did you study?
I did my undergrad at Harvard in Statistics and Computer Science. I bounced around between several majors my freshman year – environmental science and engineering, chemistry and physics, and economics – before settling on statistics. I was pretty involved with the Harvard Association for US-China Relations (HAUSCR), which sparked an interest in education and led me to my current career in education technology.
Where are you now in your career?
I graduated in 2021 and started as a PM at IXL Learning, where I’ve been for the last 4 years. This fall, I’m about to start a new role as Product Lead at Stellic, continuing my work in edtech but in the higher education space.
Why did you volunteer with the HGSC Board?
I joined HGSC earlier in 2025 on the communications team. I joined because I firmly believe and value the idea of forming a deep, broad network of LGBTQ+ Harvard alumni to guide recent Harvard graduates.
What are you excited for in 2025?
I’m excited to keep building community in San Francisco. Over the past year I’ve been bringing people together around shared projects, mentorship, volunteering, and fundraising, and it’s been one of the most meaningful parts of my life lately.
What do you miss most from your Harvard days?
I miss the blueberry, goat cheese arugula salad! Do they still serve that?
