Generations of Pride: Alumni Reflect on LGBTQ+ Experiences
As we celerbrate our 40th anniversary, please join HGSC as we hear from alumni about their experiences!

From navigating university life to forging careers in various fields, a panel of LGBTQ+ alumni will offer insightful reflections on their experiences spanning different generations. Explore the evolving landscape of LGBTQ+ identity through the lens of those who have lived it firsthand. Whether you're a member of Harvard Gender and Sexuality Caucus, friend, or ally, come be inspired by the rich tapestry of LGBTQ+ stories that have shaped the past and continue to shape the future.
Panelists include:
- Paul Warner AB '84 - film and theatre director, including of the recent film Hamlet/Horatio
- Gretchen Brion-Meisels AB '99 EDM '11 EDD '13 - author and lecturer at the Harvard Graduate School of Education whose research seeks to explore partnerships between youth and adults that support both individual and collective development
- Meredith Bagley AB '99 - Associate Professor at the University of Alabama (PhD 2010, Texas) whose research and teaching centers on sport, power, and rhetoric, as well as rhetoric of public memory
- Schuyler Bailar AB '19 - author, educator, and LGBTQ+ rights advocate. He is the first openly transgender NCAA Division I swimmer
- Diego Garcia Blum MPP '21 - Program Director for the Global LGBTQI+ Human Rights Program at the Carr Center for Human Rights Policy at the Harvard Kennedy School
